Hi,
I drive a 2006 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner (TRD Sport). I notice that my brakes squeak when I am in a parking garage (or similiar style of driving atmosphere). This only happens in low speeds or when Im in traffic moving less than 20mph. I know the regular braking sound when you have worn brake pads but my pads still have a lot of material left on them. Whats weird is when I drive fast and stop immediately, it doesnt make the sound....just only in soft braking.
I took my truck to a dealer and they told me that it is normal because of what the brake pads are made of. :eek7: Are they right?

I have a 'O6 4DR PR and I get the same brake noise. I mention it every time I get it serviced and the brakes are always testing OK. They never mentioned anything about a material issue. A friend has an '08 which does not do this.
