2000 Grand am Block heater

How would I go about removing the block heater on my 2000 grand am(3.4L).

Seeing you live in Canada why would you want to remove it ?

Some are installed in the cooling system and some are in oil pan and you would need to remove that to get it out.

Just be a matter of finding it and removing whats holding it on. Most likly its in the right radiator hose(s), look and see if thier are wires from the power cord going in anywhere on that side.

I need to replace it because it will not work anymore and it had been between -20 and -30 degrees Celsius everyday. How could i find out if it the actual block heater or just the cord, there is no continuity in the wires of the cord.

you cant just replace the cord the whole part would need replaced.

Just follow the wire and see where it goes.

My 99 SE came from Canada and with a block heater, it was in the pass side lower radiator hose. Pretty easy to change once the hose is removed.
If its in the oil pan, I've seen those too, you'll probly want to have it done. Its a real pita to replace.

I had removed mine then, the following winter it got down to -24 and my car(s) were difficult to get started. Hope I dont see any more of that!
