Bought some of this the other day and was wondering what the difference is between 1000 and 500? Is one finer or something?

Also have some Mr Dissolved Putty, how do people apply this stuff? With a brush? Does it clean up with lacquer thiner?

Thanks very much in advance to anybody who can be of assistance.

Thanks Jay. Suspected as much, nice to have it confirmed though.

Ever tried Mr Dissolved Putty?

*EDIT: To correct my fumble fingers - sorry Jay.

Mr Surfacer 500 is very good at covering 600grit or courser sanding marks. 1000 lays a very smooth surface that levels very well. For Gundam models I ususally do one light pass of 500 and then two lights passes of 1000.

Dissolved putty is good for course seam lines. Use a brush, it cleans with lacquer thinner.
