A friend asked me to help him find a source for better kit or PE upgrade wire wheels for the old Merit 1:25 Alfa 159 GP car which he's started on.

I don't have one lying around to check on the wheel/tire size but am familar with the kit - very old (1950's tooling), basic and the wheels are incredibly bad... Does anyone know of a source? He already talked with Herb Deeks - no luck there.
TIA

Profil 24 sell their wheels and tires separately. The Merit/Smer tires are 28.5mm front/30mm rear and the wheel is 18.5mm. I'm not sure what sizes are included with the Maserati 450S but they should be the closest. I can tell you the wheels in the Lotus XI are too small and the pre-war Alfas too large as I have them to compare to the Alfetta parts. Email Jean-Philippe and he should be able to tell you the measurements.
