Radiator Burst

Hi all,
New here. My wifes 1998 Mazda MPV burst the radiator last night. Earlier in the day the top Radiator hose came off at the radiator so I came home and i fastened it with a hose clamp. After 10 minutes of driving the radiator burst a long crack across the top plastic portion. Lots and Lots of steam everywhere.
It seems that after I fastened the hose down good that the pressure was so extreme that it burst.
I know I will have to replace the radiator.
What else caused this issue?
Water Pump?
Radiator Cap?
Thermostat?
I dont want to replace the radiator and have it happen again
