1996 Passenger side CV shaft support bearing

The passenger side CV axle is comprised of a shaft that comes out of the transmission and connects to an inner CV joint that is supported by a bearing. Anyone know where I can get this bearing...besides a dealer

An off topic question...is it easier to drop the engine/transaxle, or raise it out of the car....I'm rebuilding the transaxle...

Thanks

I'm sure someone parting out a contour/mystique on contour.org would be more than happy to sell you the entire shaft instead of getting the bearing. If I had to guess, the bearing is not sold seperately.

People have done both. I personally pulled mine from the top.

Clean the end of the bearing and get the bearing number. Call somebody like Applied Hydraulics,Dixie bearings,Napa, or Pep Boys. If the bearing is available
you may have to get an Auto Machine shop to press it on for you. Call them first for a bearing.
