97 Sportage making loud noise!

I gotta 97 sportage 2WD manual. When i accelerate the car makes a really loud noise but only in certain RPM ranges, in my case 2,000-2500 in any gear. I checked for holes in muffler and tightened header bolts and any seals along the exhaust pipe. PLZ HELP, the noise is driving me CRAZY!!!:mad:

Can you describe the "noise" somewhat more? Rattle? Rumble ? VIbration? Originating from what section ?A few common issues: drive-shaft universal joint, exhaust pipe shields, exhaust pipe itself missing suspension bracket.
