The speedometer in my 2004 cavalier (Auto Transmission 2.2 Litre ) is not working, some days it starts at 70Km when I don't even move. The temperature guage is also acting up. Any suggestions.

Look into getting a new cluster. Not the first time I've seen this issue being linked to a failing cluster.

Anyone from a sunfire/cavalier with a tach 00-05 will work if you wish to get out cheaply and do the swap yourself. You'll also have to do the VATS relearn procedure. I can get you this info if you wish to take this route.

dont pay someone to repair your cluster just go to a dealer and order one then when it arrives take your old one in and they will program it it runs about 170 or so its not bad and its easy to replace yourself

these clusters are known for going bad mine did in my 04 cavalier. first the rpm guage went then the temp then the speedometer finally. and going to the dealer and ordering one is the best way. they will program it when u bring ur old one in and the new one shows up. it is a easy part to replace its a simple take out and put new in then ur ready to go.
