I just rebuilt and put a holley 600 on my car but the secondaries aren't opening and I think it is costing me a lot of power, my engine is a crate motor that was rated at 285hp, and I would like to know does anyone know how much power it is costing me? I know it has to be a lot because I raced my friend's supercharged toyota tacoma, and I know he ran a 16.7 in the 1/4 and he beat me from a 25mph rolling start twice!!

It depends on where your secondaries are designed to open. Also IMO you need to ditch vacuum seconmdaries and go with mechanical.

you definatley need to get those secondaries open. There's no way to tell how much power you're losing without a dyno, but I would guess a reasonable amount.

To be honest.... you're not loosing anypower... Technically You're not making it.

Gotta feed the motor more fuel to go faster.... but thats obvious.

Ummm, if you rebuilt the carb.. i'd say rebuild it again make sure the jets are operating correctly with like no gunk or crap in them.... and check that the accelerator pumps are functioning. Hard to diagnose a problem over the web.. but just fiddle with it. Its probably a simple problem...
