CV Boot

Hey,
I have a 95 Subaru Legacy wagon. Just had a wee look under neath and i see the CV boot is cracked... i have been doing some research online and see the best option seems to pay to get it replaced and it would be good to replace the CV joint as well. This especially seems right for me as i am a mere female with not eve a screw driver to my name. :lol2:

As this will probably take a few funds from me (right on Christmas too dam it) i am wondering how safe it is to drive with the boot cracked (this isn't just the beginning of a crack, the whole thing is in too pieces now!!!) If someone could give me a time estimate on how long i should be able to drive it for (even if it'll be safe enough to get to a mechanic!!!) that would be great!!

Bloody cars, who'd have em'

Cheers,
Jess

Unless you are hearing clunking noises when u turn the wheel... im sure you still have plenty of time before you need to replace the axle... so enjoy your christmas and worry about it after the holidays :)
