ifs solid axle idea?

well i have a 2k chevy silvarado 1500 and i recently am havin horrible allignment problems and its undrivable over 30mph, anyway i was thinkin of gettin a lift soon and when they install it they should fix the allignment problem too right? well i also just recently was lookin at teh solid axel swap kits too for trucks and got intersted in though and not having to deal with all this IFS bs ive been goin through i got excited and hears the question i want to know, my friend has a 78 chevy k-5 hes about ot get rid of for scrap, could i take all his front end, shackles mounting stuff steering and everything and swap it onto my silvardo? they make SAS kits that come with all the brackets so i i just kinda made my own kit by taking all his brackets gettin it all profesionally welded etc etc, is this a possible thing and if so how much work iam i lookin at and $$$? and or which is a better choice gettin the lift for the ifs and if that fixes it do that? and that would cost about 2k for lift and instaltion, or puttin some hardwork into this and havin a really unqiue truck and doin the solid axel swap? if any one has done one on any truck or better one like mine what was it like how do u feel about it? thanks!

Umm... SAS is great... Are you planning on wheeling it hard or looking at 38"+ tires. If neither...SAS is the wrong way to go. Its a incredibly labor intensive job... If you have little or no welding, fabrication skills, you are better leaving it to the pros, guys that know what they are doing spend months collecting parts and spend 5k+. If your looking at lifting, find a good quality knuckle lift, they are the best at holding alignment. Also they are easy to do yourself. If you are serious go to GMfullsize.com do some searching there on the lifted section about sas. A wealth of knowledge and you will see, unless you wheel hardcore or going huge, sas just not worth the time and effort

ight thanks, i just loved havin the solid axle on my k5 and how easy it was to lift it and maitnece it etc etc, i do off road at leas t 1-2 a week but nothin hardcore no rock crawlin or nothin just some nice little pits here and there and i was only lookin at gettin 35x12.50s or if they fit 35x14.50s, ill guese ill get the lift for ifs and what not and get it all realligned, just the SAS looked like i could fix 2 things in one, get rid of my allignment and lift it at the same time and maybe for the same price, but uhwell i had wishfull thinkin lol,
