Keyless entry remote

Hi all -

I bought a 2002 Alero repo from a bank, and there was no keyless entry remote with the car. How can I find out if the car is equipped for the RKE, and if so, will a junkyard remote work, or is this a dealer item. Is there a way to program or reprogram a remote for this vehicle?

Just have the local GM dealer run the VIN number to see if it was equipped from the factory with RKE. GM RPO code should be AU0 or AU8 on the SPID label.

If not equipped then you will need a body control module that supports RKE, the keyfob and the RCDLR receiver module plus supporting wiring.
