Another old kit that left its box prison. 1/25 AMT model of a typical car from the early 60´s Indy. This roadster had original features, very different from what was already current in F1. Instead of sprigs, it used four torsion bars and eight shock absorbers. The oil tank and the direction bar was placed outside. The engine was a four inline placed in the left side of the body and the axes were also asymmetric with the lower side toward the inside of the curves. The last time that such a car won the Indy 500 was in 64.
Thanks for the visit.

Never seen this one before. I like it. I'd like to know what, if any, details were added and if it's available anywhere?

That is a very cool little Indy racer. I'd love to see more of these. You've done your characteristically excellent work on it. The kit does appear to have a lot of detail and lots of parts. Is that the case or did you add a ton of scratch-built details?

That is a very nice and clean build. It looks like it's ready to hit the bricks! Nice detailing without being over detailed.

Your tube frame and engine assembly is incredible! With your skill, you could have made ANY Indy roadster of that era. I like it that you made your own design. I'd like to see some pics of the original model (#9), too! Great work!!

Thank you all for the visit and attention.
The assembly was OOB with the addition of spark plug wiring and the rear portion of the exhaust pipe was made with brass. The original decals were in bad condition and this decoration is fictitious. The numerals came from a Honda motorcycle 1 / 9.
The other roadster that appears is not the same kit, in the case of Kurtis Kraft's Monogram and other photos can be seen today in this same section, on page 24

I love your vintage racers, these cars are very new to me and I like the history behind them. Also it doesn't hurt that you build them so beautifully too.
