G'day lads,
As the title implies, just wondering what other car-nuts build when having a break from cars...to kick it off, I've got an 1:35 Abrams M1A1 tank waiting in line patiently....

Resin figures for me... but most of the time all my progects are going at once...
Since it gets a little hectic with 3 or more 100+peice car models on my modeling desk... figures help lessen the peice count.
Cars and gals... what more can a guy want lol.

I model pretty much anything.
I just got done w/ a 1/35 MH-60G Pavehawk helicopter, and now Im working on a 54mm resin fighter pilot figure. Im also working on a Tamiya 1/12 Ducati 916, among other things.
Haven't done any cars this year, but I did 14 or 15 1/24 nascar cars last year.

I tend to do fantasy figures in 1/8 & 1/6 scale see below for a couple of examples.
I am also building a lot of resin and metal sci fi & historic figures for the Frontier models web site. The 1:1 Alien pulse rifle is one of mine.

I like to build radio control airplanes. Imagine a model that performs just like the full-scale prototype.
http://i419.photobucket.com/albums/pp280/cratecruncher/Miscellaneous/DCP01476.jpg
This is a 1/5 scale Nieuport 11 with a 60" wingspan. It has all scale structure and flying surfaces. In fact even the airfoil is scale. It also will likely have some of the notorious bad habits of the original like a weak structure, poor weight distribution, ineffective ailerons. But then, you know its scale....
Incidently, now my user name makes more sense. A "crate" was contemporary pilot slang for a poorly designed airplane back in the Great War.

Hey Mike Tayor, nice plane. What do most airplane modelers use for the bracing wire? Metal wire or thread? (polyester?, nylon?)

I've been wondering that too - about to build a some biplanes soon, after having built nothing but cars for years. Currently have a Fokker D VII and a Curtiss Goshawk (both 1:48), which I've been asked to build by a friend, and a 1:72 De Haviland Dragon Rapide that I'm building for myself
Also have the Revell 1:18 Laser sailing dinghy waiting to be built (used to race one in my teens) and looking forward to Revell releasing their Sunseeker Predator kit :D
Anyone have any links to some aircraft building FAQs or good aircraft forums?
Thanks!
