I have a 2001 grand prix gt 3.8 non-supercharged. I was wondering, how hard is is to change the manual dual climate zone to a digital one. Is is as simple as unplugging the old one and plugging in the digital. I also tried to switch to a digital (dic) but found no plug in the back. Please help thanks:confused:

Nope. A conversion is not as simple as plug and play. Pontiac discontinued the use of the ACC CJ2 climate control system for a reason in subsequent GP model years and you are better off with the manual dual zone.

The Analog to Digital DIC can be done! Read the whole article before you start cutting and splicing.

To the OP, I have the auto/dual climate control on my 99 and trust me, you don't want it! Everything on mine is functionally fine (no problems), but in auto mode it doesn't keep the car cool enough in summer or warm enough in winter. The later manual dual zone is a much better set-up.

Plus its sort of hard to read... Not very user friendly. (especially when driving)
