Has anybody had this particular problem with thier pathfinder or could point me in a possible repair direction. The vehicle is a 1992, with a V6 engine. The vehicle has been poorly maintain. The vehicle will sometimes start up and drive find, when you turn it off and only engine turn over when you try to start it again. Need to have it towed. Sometimes it starts right up, then again it does not. It sits for a day or two then starts up again. The fuel pump was changed 2-3 years ago, the fuel pressure is around 43psi. The pressure regulator seems find, no gas in the vacuum line. The plugs, air filter were changed recently. I just cleaned the throttle body, though needs to be taken out and clean throughly. There was excessive carbon build-up on the distributer cap and rotor, which I cleaned up. Could the cap and rotor been the problem? The vehicle seems fine now. This has been a on going problem, any help greatly appreciated.

check for cracks on your distributer cap. The next time it happens check to see if your getting spark while turning the engine over. It sounds like an ignition problem.
