Remote Start Install Mazda CX-7?!?!?

??? I was just curious if any one has or had remote start installed on a 08 Mazda CX-7, I'm trying to make it a Christmas present.

Car toys seems to be out to rim me. Grand total of $373. Unit price is at $149 installed. Plus bypass module which is quoted at $70-$100. Which sounds like $124 for extra installation. = $373. Installation would take 1 to 2 hours.

It didn't bother me until I did some research. I went with Avital Avistart 4113 Remote Starter because all I need is remote start and no bells and whistles. So this unit is perfect.

Cartoys $150

Truck Customizers.Com $73

Lessco Electronics.Com $59
ww.lesscoelectronics.com/Avital_Avistart_4113_4113L_1_Button_Starter_p/4113%204113l.htm
(just add a W ^^^)

So that's $200-214 for installation and $159-174 for hardware? I didn't even look for a module bypass or add taxes.

Am I getting screwed or is this about normal? Somebody toss me some lube!

1 to 2 hours for remote start ? sounds kinda low to me, maybe an actual installer can chime in.

What do you mean by low? Like a good price or it should take longer?

I would think it would be more like 4+ hours. There are a lot of sensors and the like that have to be connected but I would rather an installer with experience give an honest answer.

For that car I charge $199 installed for remote start only--no keyless. The bypass I use is from www.ifar.ca and usually runs me about $35 and I don't charge extra for bypasses. The price you gave seems alittle high but pricing depends on the quality of the work, products sold, and competition.

that's why I wanted experienced instalers to chime in, I tinker with this stuff in my garage when I have time.
