Finally got the new exhaust. I got the exhaust pipe replaced cause it was on the way out, cat taken off, and a flowmaster 50 installed. It sounds AWESOME on the outside, but its not obnoxious and droning from the inside either.

I'm still confused about the high idle. I got the TPS replaced, carb rebuilt; i don't know what else to look for. I could probably lower the idle screw a little bit but not much. The other day i let the car warm up and it was idling at 2,000 rpm. So i have to just push the gas every once in a while to get the rpms back down. After doing that about 2 or 3 times the idle will stay closer to where it should be.

this carb was always with a sticking high speed choke cam...I had to clean and lube this every oil change or it would stick..also the choke pull off would have a diaphram leak and then not fully pull the choke off..

whats the best way to clean and lube the choke cam anyway? do you just take it off or have to readjust it? im having idle issues sometimes too

Bitchin exhaust ... Sounds good...

The choke linkage might be a little sticky causing the high idle.
When the carb was rebuilt, was it totally disassembled and soaked in carb cleaner? If not, try to free up the linkage with some carb cleaner or wd40.
What about the choke pull off, was it replaced or checked?

Good luck with your ride..

also quick simple question, and not to get off topic, but how do you take apart the choke for cleaning?

have the throttle open slightly and, with the engine off , spray the cam area and work the choke by hand gently to loosen up the metal...also make sure the pull off is working..it should on start up go back quickly.if not the vacuum diaphram is bad..

there is no reason to take apart anything..
