96 Eclipse. Need to remove the pistons and put in some new rob bearings i think, or at least inspect them. Is this something that can be done in a garage. Does anybody have the procedure for doing this, or access to the procedures.

it can be done in any garage it just depends on what tools you have in that garage and how much you know about doing this. If you have to ask chances are you probably shouldn't be messing around with your bottom end. But prove me wrong.

You dont need to remove the pistons to get to the rod bearings. You can just pull the oil pan and get to them but I would recommend having the crank polished before you install new bearings to make sure they will last.

I was just wondering if its something that can be done easliy, how bad a job it would be. It's for a friends friend. He seened to thing it needs a rod bearing due to the noise. I was going to remove the pan but wasn't sure if the engine had tobe supported from the top. I didn't do it because he needed it done right away and i was busy reringing a volkswagen. Thanks for the Help?
