i have recently purchased a 2000 rodeo the is 98 percent rust free. the only spot of rust is right underneath the rear tailights. are there any other areas that i should protect?

The whole truck.
I have a 97 Rodeo that I've owned since new, truck gets waxed at minimum 3 times every year, it's a burgundy truck so that was the number one reason for waxing so much, 2nd reason is I hate owning a vehicle that turns rusty due to lack of my taking care of it.
My truck's sat outside 365 days a year in hot desert climate for over 5yrs, followed by Colorado's magnesium chloride on winter roads for the last 7yrs and 188k miles.
To this day, I don't have a single spot of rust.

The lower part of the front fender by the door. No rust on mine, but it tends to collect leaves which will hold water (if you open the door you can look in to see if there any leaves, if so you can wash'em out out with your hose).
The only rust bubble I have on mine appeared after our worst winter ever in WI. It is in the door seam with the door open on the lower part (I brushed a little bit of rust bullet to lock it down).

If you live where they use alot of salt on the roads, the frame is very vulnerable. Those who live in the rust belt can have a very nice looking rust free body but the frame will be rotted away. Luckily with the mag chloride here that isnt and issue. It will eat up aluminum but wont rust steel.

Aluminum is my concern, with my wheels. I should've kept my old steel wheels for winter use, but then again, I couldn't afford 2 sets of good A/T tires for one truck either.

Thats why I ended up going with the steelies with bling. Was a toss up between the chrome on the steel wheels rusting or the alloy wheels looking like crap from mag chloride. The steel ones were cheaper so they won.

I do like your rims, wish they'd been available locally when I was looking.
No one had steel rims that fit here in town.

the reason i was asking is because i am going to use this as a daily driver and i wanted to protect rust prone areas from these chicago salty winters.
has anyone used the rust check or krown spray on oil coatings?
