overheat

ive got a 72 chevy custom deluxe and recently overheated it. I pulled it off the highway and it wouldnt start. It cranks all day, just wont fire. any suggestions?

When you 'overheated' it, do you mean the cooling system boiled over? Were you towing something at the time?
Usually, simply boiling the coolant will not cause a 'no-start' condition so I wonder if there was something else that happened that may have contributed to the problem.
However, it's basic problem solving. Pull a spark plug and check for spark when cranking. Check fuel flow to the carburetor to make sure the line or filter is not clogged. Make sure the choke blade has closed properly.
If all this checks out, post back here and we can see if there are other problems, such as a bad coil, loose timing chain etc.

Yeah just boiled coolant. Ill check for spark and fuel problems on friday and get back to you.
