my passport is slipping a lot on hills and around 40 to 50 mph. im thinking it might be the torque converter or the tranny. so how should i fix a slipping torque converter, should i fix the torque converter or jus get a new tranny. my mileage is 190k. my tranny atf is not low cuz i added sum like a week ago. and my car acts as if it does not hav any power. pick up speed really slow and rpm is high and does not shift right and when the gears shift the rpm does not drop down low, instead it drops down a little and goes back up then drops down alot as if it shifts twice to get to the next gear. i hav a 94 passport/rodeo. thank you

Welcome.
Try visiting www.planetisuzoo.com there are a lot more members over there and some auto tranny specialists. I've all but given up posting here, as no one ever responds back...not saying you wouldn't, but you are likely to get much more info over there.
Look forward to seeing you.

It's not your torque converter. Your front pump is probably weak. The slipping is your clutch packs because there isn't enough hydraulic pressure to hold them.
You're looking at replacing or rebuilding the transmission.

I'm about to give up with this board.

Annoying isn't it? Another thing is when someone doesn't close out their question by posting the resolution to their problem. Sure would help out a lot of members searching for answers.
I haven't given up on the forum, but I have almost given up helping out noobs. :banghead:

Me too...I'll never stop talking to us regulars, but it does get frustrating when you take the time to help someone out and they never respond back.
That's like saying excuse me in the store, or sorry when you've bumped into someone and they don't say anything back.

I've noticed alot of that. Granted, I'm not as much of a regular as some of you guys, but there are many issues that would be great to know the resolution. I've tried to follow up with the issues I had, and it was refreshing to see one of the more recent posts about the IMG job that was followed up in detail.
