My First AMT Kit: FNF Mitsubishi Eclipse

Well, be gentle on me as this is my first AMT kit. Well, my comment are the bad decals( really hate it man !!) ,no gauges ,meter decals, some fitment issues, no wipers and a bad height ride which I noticed the front his higher than the rear a little but loo late, as I fixed it already. I encountered some problems and I will take note in my future AMT builds. I did some changes to this model..

1) Fujimi R32 Front Seats
2) Tamiya Evo VI Rally Bonnet pins (Front hood and trunk)
3) Ings+1 Gt Wing (Original GT Wing sucks to the max)
4) Wipers for LHD cars (from Fujimi's Nissan March extra's)
5) Color: Industrial Apple Green (cleared and polished)

Its my first kit with a full engine detail. I hope you guys like it. It's not that good because I am still learning how to build a good model especially with AMT kits :twisted:

For an out-of-the box build, I can't really see much wrong with it.
Your paint looks great, and everything looks like it fits together well in the pictures.

Keep up the good work, and let's see some more completed kits....

Excellent work on a terrible kit. AMT (as they usualy do lately) realy screwed that one up. If you want a much more relaxing Eclipse build, pick up the Revell one. But that being said....good job!

This looks superb! When I opened up this kit and tried the fitment of every piece, I thought to myself I will never complete, but you did it, and in very good quality too!
Thumbs up to you for doing such a good job on this badly designed kit.
What do you think of the wheel/tire/brake assembly? I think the way they designed the brakes to hide inside a solid wheel is very stupid. As of the front fenders, I still dont know how I am going to mate the chassis to the body according to their glueing points. No glue in the world will hold the front steady while having to bend the chassis up so much. And then there are the lack of wipers, weird looking gas cap, boxy engine, tail light lens, and so on......

Your craftmanship and accesories simply made up for all the problems in the kit.

well basically this is an OOB and some parts changed to make it better.

regarding the chassis fitment, i find it quite easy to fit it.
all wat i do is apply some super glue on the front chassis and hold it for about 30 seconds and it will stay in place together with the body.

The wheels, i think that's horrible also because I don't have after market rims so i decided to live with it. The height is badly done, front is higher than the rear which piss me off alot. the worse part would be the gt wing. it doesn't fit at all and I think i made the right choice by using Tamiya's Ings+1 version.
Yes, don't know what they are thinking when they don't provide wipers? It's not that good build as it's OOB and I think weathering the engine and engine bay is a good decision :) There are still some minor problems like oversand, some rough spots, stupid decals that wrinkled easily and hard to adjust once applied but it's acceptable. And the side mirrors are so small but that's cool :)

I am going to build the AMT Evo FNF soon but that will be a horrible build i think. Cartoonish.
