Computer Information

I was curious to know what are the signs to let you know that you need a new computer? I have replaced me sensors that computer told me to change, yet it seems as if the car will not run properly. If you are wondering the car, it is a 1997 Mazda Millenia S with 167k miles. If you had any previous warning signs, or you have replaced a computer, please let me know.
