Truck has factory installed fog lights but the lights in the front bumper were missing I put in new lights, and they didn't work so I replaced the wires, relay and switch with factory parts and they still don't work. From reading the posts it looks like the BCM has to be reprogramed or replaced I am not going to the dealer and paying for that. Is there a way to wire in the swich to work the fog lights independ from everything else?

NO that switch is not a simple on/off deal...this is a complicated circuit..that works with the HI beams and shut down..

I don't see how you put these wires in..so you wired the BCM..?

no damage not missing the truck came with factory fog lights. I replaced the wire from the fog lights to the relay just to make sure plus the relay and switch ALL WITH GM PARTS to rule out the simple. what I read was "I replaced wires" what wires? exactly? and why? where the wires damaged? missing?

so the previous owner removed the fog lamps....you replaced these other parts because these lamps did not light when you reinstalled the lamps?
did you make voltage measurements at the relay/lamps? and the lamps are correct as to the bulb type ?

Yes the lamps were missing everything else was there I started with replacing the lamps, again ALL GM PARTS the lamps still will not turn on I used a test lamp no power at the lamp plug. I just want to wire the switch to work the fog lamps on its own.

Did you check the fog lamps fuse (15 amp) in Engine wiring harness junction block? should be close to the fod lamp relay

There should be no reason to program the BCM- looks like since the fog lamps are OEM- the wiring is all there- you can test by jumpering the relay terminals 3o and 87- - must have power at 30- which comes from the 15 amp fuse

BCM ill ground relay terminal 86 if high beams are off- and foglight request is on....

Oh and don't forget the ground for both lights- "G100" is on the left radiator support bracket

to do this you will need a relay...the dash switch will energize the relay coil, then the 12volts would go to the relay contact switch and the other contact would go to the lamps. this will bypass the original set up...just make sure that the feed wires are fused at the source...the switch in the dash lacks the current rating to put the lamps on and off ,thats why a relay rated for 20amps or so would be good to use..

I am going to go back and recheck each terminal # just to make sure and the ground but I think this was all good I will let you know how I make out.
