My brother is in Saudi Arabia right now and emailed us for the last time today. He said he can't talk to us for a while and he loves us and he will be ok. I am for the war. Saddahm and his sons are the definition of evil. Right now, saddahm has less than 15 minutes to leave and our troops are sitting on the border. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

i think War is Gay!!! i think Saddam and his sons should grow up.. that or take a gun and kill themselves! its sick what they do!
i hope the US troops get in there, find the SOB and kill his ass and his sons before they have a chance to do any retalliation at all! i kinda think this has an impact on Canada too because if the iraq's shoot a nuke at u guys and miss... well... they might hit us! that would suck but i hope all the US troops come back alive and well and my heart is with them. and i think Bush is just tryin 2 do what his dad couldnt

I dont like the war but i think if there is a f***ed up person out there with weapons that could kill us all the world should come together to kill and take him out. I dont think the world understands the weapons he has proboly at the push of a button. in 4 minutes this could be the begining of the end. missles all over im scared proboly like alot of people, in the end it comes down the this guys gotta leave before there are 100 such events like 9/11 or 1 event catastofic ( dont know how to spell it) event.

yes but realisticly you have to think that if there is a war there is gonna be some major problems. one of the bigger problems is that there is now like a nuke on every corner. So if we all start launching nukes. BYE. to every one. If the blast don't kill you the nuclear fall out will. lets see what do they call it like nuclear winter or something. Am I scuuured NO. what happens is what happens there is nothing that any body can do to change it. just my 2 cents

The united states cannot do this due to the fact we passed a bill saying that we will not permit assassinations against world leaders, yeah it's a stupid law but it was put there for a reason, because we did it once and we f'ed up. And to all the people who don't want war, I am curious as to why b/c i am not to pleased about sadam having nuclear weapons and not following agreements he signed. I realize war is drastic but over many years of diplomatic relations they have screwed themselves by and someone has to give Iraq back to it's people and out of the hands of killers.

Assasinating Saddam will just create a power vacuum in an already unstable nation. Many people would fight to take over and most likely someone from his regime will follow in his footsteps. As for the war I support the men and women that are fighting for our freedom but I think we were a little to quick to pull the plug on diplomacy.

I don't know how to feel. I feel scared about the possibility of retaliation on U.S. soil. I am scared for all the troops if they are attacked by chemical and/or bio-logical weapons. I feel good that someone is doing something about Saddam and he devilish ways. We need not forget about N. Korea and Bin Ladin. I missed the part where the reason was explained that the focus was changed from Bin L. to Saddam. I have hope that what ever happens will happen swiftly , quickly and it does something good and not start some kind of chain reaction around the world. I also feel that Bush has a more personal agenda with this Iraq thing.
I live in NEW YORK. I have lived here all my life. When the World Trade Center was attacked, I was at work. (large electronics store) 200 televisions with the same channel on, showing the events unfold before our very eyes. I never felt so scared in my life. Every body in the store was standing still and silent, customers and employees. nobody could speak, or do any normal type of activity. I really don't know what I am trying to say, but whatever happens, I hope the out come is one to celebrate, and not to mourn. I pray for our troops, and the inocent civilians in Iraq. I really don't agree with the war, but what needs to be done will be done, it's out of our hands, and in the hands of GOD.
God bless you all, and God bless America.

You people don't understand what the man wants. This man is the next Hitler. He wants world domination. If we don't stop him now he will keep getting stronger and stronger and it will be too late to stop him. I just wish we would have taken him out in the last war. Also all these people are saying we have no reason to go to war with Iraq. Do you not understand he is greatly responsible for the 9/11 bombing? There are phone records and calls intercepted that proves he was in alliance with Binladen.

I think this war is gonna do good. Bush gave Sadam the chance to get rid of his weapons, never did and little bush is just cleaning up his fathers work. And yes all wars are scarey, and no one wants to see war but sometimes you cant let it go. I pray for our troops that are over fighting right now. And this time we will get rid of Sadam, we have too. God Bless.

Yes doug is correct, Sadam was the mastermind behind 9/11 and we need to get him as fast as we can. Bush even said that if chemical weapons are used agaisnt our troops, or the US he will not hesitate to use Nuclear Weapons..and I pray to god it doesnt get to that.

now let me guess you guys wouldn't happen to be complaining about Gas prices are you? HMMMM think about it! I'm sorry but I would just like to know how old are most of you in here? I'm in the military and you know it's funny how this country is!
After 9/11 I couldn't stop all the good looks or people holding the door for me when I was in uniform and now I get muggy looks from people and I think it's Funny.
America loves the military when it serves them or defends them...Everybody wanted Osama's head on a platter after that now look at everyone...oh, peace don't hurt them don't do this....what has saddam done...
Do you want to know something funny....A famous person on TV said the other day Sadaam hasn't done anything to us why are we trying to kill him you don't know if he's going to do anything...
What the american people don't know is that Back in 85!!! Al Gore was talking to a Military General about a certain person he feared and was spending 60,000 on security on his home for his family....he laughed at the man and said why...he said it was because a man had threatened the life of his family and himself....why are you so afraid of him he asked..."because he is the most evil person I have ever heard of." you can't be afraid of this man...what should we do with him...
if it was up to me I would send out an assasin team and kill him!
we can't do that he has done nothing wrong is what Al Gore said...
Guess who the guy was?
Osahma Bin Laden!!!!!!! Could you imagine! 9/11 would have never happened had they listened to this guy!

This is where terrorism has truly taken its toll. Not when we are truly in danger, just when we are afraid we're at risk.
I live out in the sticks, but you can bet I'm going to be practically strip-searched when I come in to work tomorrow. They've already got state police everywhere.
And I carry my guitar everywhere. I'll bet I start catching shit for that every day, too.
Glad I'm not in Norfolk, VA, though!

The tactic of secretly attacking and wiping out your enemies, especially when you think they are your own citizens has already been tried. The Soviet Union under Stalin hauled away literally millions of their own people and sent them to prison doing hard labor for 10, 25, sometimes 40 years.
And their government collapsed.
That method has been tried. True liberty is so precious, it is also so easily lost. The fastest way to lose it is by covert operations on foreigners. It's only one step away from covert operations on your own citizens. Paranoia is addictive.
Then, liberty is gone.

I will be the first to admit, that I would be the last one to ever want a war. I whole heartedly beleive that nobody really wants a war. But I will support American troops. I may not fully understand or trust the reason for the cause of this war, however if we send military force to Iraq without giving them a reason to come back. Then they are already gone. I also definately agree 4DF when he said that covert operations against other countries puts us only a step away from our own government spying on us. And that is freedom I would prefer we not have to lose. It is hard to say where as a country we will be when this war is over. Its not as if it were an innosence lost kind of thing we have been to war before. And each time we seem to grow a little more, but what are we growing into. I know this maybe a little cheesy " but with great power comes great respondsibility." America is by far the most powerful country in the world and what do we want to do with that power. Not what Bush or any other the elected officals want to do with the power, but what do we want to do with it because they speak for us.
:)
And as far as the gas prices I beleive somebody was griping at earlier in this thread. Well I have always wanted a car fuel by alcohol. :D

Hey man before 9/11 I used to be like a PEACEFULL HIPPIE PROTESTOR... After the realization of what was hapining hit me me and a couple of buddies went out there to help clean up (Before they said not to) My frend romie spent $8000 on a crain and we drove its ass out there... While picking through rubble and helping move I-beams I saw more blood and carnage than I would have liked to. Its alot different when you are holding a piece of arm or leg and putting it into a black biohazard bag for them to sort out who is who than it is seing it on tv.
I would like to see some serouse carnage put back on the people who cripled the proud. I think we should give it everything weve got, go over there and start slaughtering anything that moves... Fuck it, they have been killing eachother for milleniums anyway. You look at were things are fucked up in the world, and somehow it all points to the middle east.
KILLEM ALL!
God speed and let victory be in the hands of the ritouse.

There is a draft bill currently in congress. Whether it will be passed into law is another story.

they agreed to not have weapons of mass destruction and the do! and they wont give them up! take a look at their past and all the wars they have started. and that is why they ar not permitted to have them. and if they continue to have them they will use them on us and our fellow countrys. we only asked them to disarm or war.
it was their choice.
it was their choice.

I'm tired of everyone talkin about how we need to get rid of people because of what they have or can do (We r just as guilty). We need to help solve our own country's problems & stop feeding the fire for hate from countries that don't like us already. Most people don't know all the crap that we do to manipulate people so we gain more power & control. I fully support the soldiers cause they're doing their job but I also support all the innocent people in Iraq that have to live (or die) through this war because of our need to right the wrongs for everyone else. I hope this war goes quick & GOD bless the children & innocent in Iraq that must face our destruction.

yes they do have the draft bill, but I doubt that we would need to put it into effect. I dont think this war is gonna last too long.

i also dont like to see innocent people killed. but america doesnt have tourcher chambers. tha war is against sadam. al he had to do was leave power! no bodie has to die. the only places being bombed are the places it where he is belived to be. and their are burdens to bear for fredom. And if prople dont like it why dont they move there.

Know i'm gonna piss of a bunch of people but so be it.
How can everybody say that Iraq is not a threat and we should not enforicng our own beliefs down on Iraq? Saddam is a manupilator(sp) and a ruthless killer. For over 12 years he has time to disarm and release the sactions held on his country but he pulled ring around the rosie with the UN. Clintin was a pussy, and did nothing to stop Saddam. I am glad we have a president right now that has a set of balls to do what he has said. I believe on 9-12-01, Bush swore to fight terror, and guess what he is doing? Iraq has proven now that they have not obeyed UN security council when he alaunched a SCUD missle at out troops, a weapon that he supposedly does not have. He had one last chance starting on mondaqy to leave, but once again, he ignored that chance, now it is time to unleash a can of whomp ass on this guy.
I come from a militry family. My uncle works in the Navy portion of the Pentagon and was lucky he was on a training op during 9-11-01. Many of my freinds are enlisted, hell about a third of the poeple i grew up with are enlisted, many over there right now. My dad, three of my unlces and a couple cousins are or have been but are retired now have been serving this country.
When i watch on the news about antiwar protestors, this pisses me off. When i lived in Groton on the sub base, there were a couple hundred protestors outside the gates protesting and insulting the brave men and women that put their lives on the line day in and day out to protect there freedom and rights including the right to protest. This protest right now that are causing our police to be diverted from keeping a watch and possible stopping any terroist activty here in the states pisses me off. Many of these protesters deserve a good smack on their head.
I know this long and very opionated, i sorry.
