Thanks for the pics. The GTR McLaren was, I think it was the same, that they used 1997 LeMans.......

That is correct - GTR #26R placed 3rd overall (2nd in the GT1 class) at the 1997 24Hrs of LeMans with drivers Peter Kox, Roberto Ravaglia and Eric Hélary.
Somewhat strange though - in that race, #26R wore race number 43 and not the number 42 as seen on it today. The GTR that wore race number 42 had drivers J.J. Lehto, Steve Soper, Nelson Piquet and that car failed to finish the race, retiring at about the halfway point. Not sure why BMW chose to reverse the liveries on this one, especially to mimic a car and set of drivers who didn't perform as well in the race. :dunno:

Yes! That information is true! I have scale model about that number 42 and there is J.J. Lehto, Steve Soper, Nelson Piquet writed on the door. Quite strange that kind of number changing.
