Have a 98 Jimmy 4wd 4.3L Vin W. Replaced head gaskets. Have no spark.

Checked and replaced coil, new distributor cap, new rotor, new plug wires and plugs. Have 12volts to coil.

Engine cranks but no spark.

Ran a OBDII check and got a PO336 error in addition to above.

You have a problem with the crankshaft sensor.
Did you get it pluged in good?

All right! Found the sensor and removed it and found one of the prongs bent down from when we reconnected it. Straightened it out and I have spark. Thank you very much!

Engine is missing while running and is particularly bad on start up, preignition seems to be occurrring. Getting a p1345 now. (Crankshaft/Camshaft position). Could that also be non-mechanical from the camshaft sensor? I had a little trouble getting that plugged in on the back of the distributor.

You are welcome.
Glad you got it to spark and running.
The code 1345 you have now is the dist is set close enought to run but not set right.
The code is for camshaft retard /correlation setting or in plain words the rotor needs set dead on with the plug wire terminal by turning the dist.
Just like adjusting the timing on older ones.

You will need a good engine capable scanner to read the setting and to adjust it as close to 1 or + 0 degrees as you can get it.
If you do not have one a good repair shop have one and can or should be able to set it for you.

First step is to be sure the dist is set as in the link below.http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=51302
