Read through this thread (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=640190) as mods have been discussed many times. Small mods would be removing the throttle body difflector (TB Mod), EGR restrictor, and cutting the stock airbox for more airflow. Then you step up to things like aftermarket air intakes, exhaust systems, ignitions, e-fans, rocker arms, underdrive pulley. After that you start getting into some money with headers, cams, port & pollished heads and intake, and forced induction. If you want to go forced induction the powerdyne kit is the one most use as the blower is made by vortec so the quality is there. A blower will kill your mpg though and costs about $1500.
