backfires are not good for people cars but generally not a problem other than they make your car sound like a POS. There is no boost threshold which when you go over it happens. A sudden change in pressure in your exhaust is simplest explanation I don't want to go into too much detail as it would be a waste of both our times.

Oh lord...

Same thing I was thinking :screwy:

A lot of backfires on tuned cars are from left over fuel being in the combustion chamber that is being burned off. This has a lot to do with fuel delivery and cam adjustment. If you want something like that they make little pieces you stick in your muffler to shoot flames like F&F.

Mine will backfire on almost every 1 to 2 shift. Exhaust leak at the manifold is the reason I believe. And yes I hate it

All good links for you with a lot of good reading.

A lot of cars when they're high hp just backfire when tuned in. Watch a NASCAR race... everytime a car gets off the gas huge flames shoot out the exhaust on the side enough to go up the side of the car. It's just unburnt fuel exiting. That doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with it. I'm sure mine will do it to once I get it tuned in a little more, but I have a cat and that thing is going to get burnt badly.

to answer your q stock talon turbos run mid 15's. The t25 runs decent psi but isn't a very big turbo so won't be a lot of airflow. 20g is bigger than a few turbos and will put down 400whp/.

Do you mean like this which all it is.Is a bigger turbo, exhaust, intercooler piping and fuel adjustments?

Or

Maybe your thinking about the Stutter Box which in a way also sounds like a backfire

What would it take so that my car backfires every 5 seconds?...I want flames to shoot out at least 8 feet everytime I shift, can I achieve these results by running 6 psi and a k&n filter? (I missed these posts and is part of the reason for my return).

This thread reminds me i need to setup a dyno date to get a fresh tune
