New Japanese Engine going in.

It's been awhile since i posted on here i've been busy hunting for a new engine. It look like stealthee was right unfourtunatly, when my friend was changing the spark plugs he dropped an bolt into the injector. I just bought a Japanese Imported Engine from Patersons, NJ. They call themselves Japanese Engine Inc. I heard very good reviews, and the engines come with a warranty and between 40-60k miles on them. I paid only 900 for the complete engine, exact year and everything. Right now as i type this it is in my Grandfathers shop were he's putting it in. I should have it very, very soon. He's putting in a new set of plugs,wires,timing belt, and a water pump. What my question is has anyone had bad experince with imported motors. Any advantages or disadvatages to them, do they last long and any tips on breaking the motor in. Thanks

having 40-60k on them there is no break in needed. You just have to be wary because some people have spun bearings almost immediately with imported engines.

Does this happen often or rarely? and i heard the imported engines are better than the american versions, even though i can't see why they would be.

the engines are the same, there's no advantages to a JDM engine over a USDM engine. The only defference is that the JDM may lack some emissions BS.

As for spinning a bearing, maybe it has to do with the fact that some of these motors have sat for 10 years with no oil circulation. Personally, if i ever get a JDM engine, i'm going to float it (fill it with like 10 quarts of oil) for a week, then drain it and refill it before i turn it over...just to make sure everytings nice and lubricated. Maybe over cautious...but thats just how i am.

I have used JDM motors before I have always had luck on my side.. but to back it up just in case I got a shit pile engine I used a CC.. If you pay with your cc and then you get a pos and they don't want to refund you the money then just call the cc company and they will get you your money back.. lol

they are a very good company. friend worked for them. i never bought anything from em, but he has pruschased, 2 honda motors, and a supra motor. all worked perfectly.
