Axle shaft

Has anyone replaced an axle shaft on a 2004 grand prix? Or how much it might cost to have done? Thanks

What issue are you having requiring replacement of an axle shaft?

Replacing the axle shafts on a 2004 and up GP is the same as any late model GM car with FWD. Same basic process. See link below which covers the '97-'03 but applicable.

The inner boot is torn. I am not sure how long it has been that way either. I live on a dirt road so I am pretty sure that the inner joint is now contaminated. I was told it is easier just replace the whole axle assembly.

I replaced my my self about 9 months ago. I order my parts from zzperformance. It took me about half a day to do. I did both sides. cost is about $170 here is the link.
