hard to start when cold

the colder it gets the more trouble i have starting 97 cav 2.2ohv...
once i get it started i have to keep it running with the gas for a minute then she runs fine.......my diognostic code retrieval is not working so thats no help
....iwas thinking a sensor not sending cold info to the computer for a rich fuel demand ......maybe coolant temp sensor......if any one knows the temp/resistance readings for the tempsensor i can just check it to see if its working .. thanks
