I have bought the goodyear gatorback belt but it seems to be short even though it is suppose to fit. since I do not use my A/C could I bypass the A/C pulley?

Are you routing it right?
Mine fit just fine. The morons at Autozone probably gave you the wrong one. If its a little short, it will still be too big even if you bypass your a/c compressor. The a/c delete belts are like 6"s shorter.
