Custon Interior help?

I'm wanting to get custom interior but i need to know the pros and cons first between having the whole interior wrapped.. and having the dash and stuff painted/dyed instead.. some good pics or the difference in look would help also.

a 1991 crx.. and the budget is flexible.. i know it will probably be around 1000 or so.. maybe more

well, all the vynil dye can be done yourself, it just all comes down to pulling all the panels, dash, etc, and making sure that all the surfaces are prepped properly. DuPont makes some of the best dye IMO, but I've seen jobs with Mar-Hyde that came out pretty dam well. It all comes down to the prepping, otherwise the final finis can be uneven, rough, even shiny here but not there, etc

As far as wrapping (just talking about seats and trim, not dash), you could always go to catzkins, but I have heard dubious things about them ranging from color match in a single set of covers (all of this ref to leather) to poor stitching and uneven perforation. A lot of times it is simply easier to take it to an upholstery shop and have them do it. Considering you're only talking about two seats and some minor trim, i could see even a really good job being less than $800 or so, but of course much of that depends on the final choice of fabric, whther vinyl, leather, suede, jaquard, etc

I've I haven't used dupont dies but dupont usually has excellent products so does PPG, just go to any Automotive paint shop and they can mix you up die. Just take everything apart and clean it really well with wax and grease remover the scuff it up "NOT TOO HARD, just take the shine off it" then clean it again with wax and grease remover and paint it. Its real easy, as far as your seats go have them done first so you can color match the die to it. You should be able to get a decent job done on your seats for no more than 700, good luck
