Does anyone have an idea of what a fully loaded 2004 Nissan Maxima SE is going to sell for new if it has every possible option availible?

i'll bet it'll be above 30k. it'll prbably be around the same price as the 350z track model fully loaded ($34K i think)hopefully i'm wrong and it's considerably less

a 2004 maxima or a 2004 350Z

In my opinion, I dont like the new generation of max's, so.. 350z all the way, and keep my 96 max for fun.

I can pick a 2000 SE for under $15,500 with around 40,000 miles on it. I can't afford a newer one because I am not comfortable financing anyting so... what would you do if you were me. I want as new of a car as possible without selling out to the Maxima. I have had 2 already... a white 1996 GXE, and the Yellow 1997 SE which I currently drive. I love the maxima and want to have one for the next 5-10 years. But it's time to get a new one because I am tired of people trying to race me since my car LOOKS FAST. I know that a 14.84 1/4 isn't fast, so I think I just want to keep my new max stock. Let me know what you think PLEASE.

Paonessa

i'd get a 350z, but it's a 2 seater. i think i'd sacrifice the .3 seconds 0-60 and get the 2+2 g35 sport coupe 6 speed. i love rollin with the homies

we got my max to run a 14.4 and all i have is intake and a cat-back stillen exhaust. that's not super fast but it's not bad. I plan on keeping my max running for as long as i can and when (if) the engine dies i'll get a new one or a rebuild. I'd rather have the lighter 4th gen. i also just like the way it looks the best

SkyMax97

This yellow one was my 2nd 4th gen, but I am getting a little older now and I sorta want a clean look. Know what I mean?? Well, maybe not since your car is YELLOW. I mean I love my car and all the mods, but I get so tired of people messing with me on the roads. I really like the PEARLE WHITE max's that are 5th Gen.

get an infiniti. class, style, performance and kids wouldn't really think to fuck around with it and you can still smoke 'em light to light if they do

thrasher

yeah, anything with HID's is getting gonna get fucked with on the roads though. kids in their eclipses and civics see HID's and think it's some slow ass luxo sedan. then you get the pleasure of seeing them grimace when you wipe them off your ass. go vq35de!

I just went over to Nissan the other day and sat in a white one 4seater edition and it was sweet on the inside the quality is definitely there and the car is tight (on the inside). The big TOOTH (front badge on the grille) looks ridiculous, it is waaay tooo big and makes the front end look retarded.

Overall the car ain't bad if you can live with the fat back end and the ridiculous TOOTH.
It was priced at 32k tops.

deadmaninc
03-19-2003, 04:13 PM
wow 32k sounds good for Max. I read somewhere where the new Maxs are gonna top out for a fully loaded one at 35k. Well I say go for an Infiniti G35 you cant really go wrong there. It is kind of like the Maxima but more luxurious and best of all it has a Vq35 engine and a 0-60 6.3 for the sedan and and 5.5 fastest I have seen for the Coupe but the average was 5.9. Or if you want a Maxima then go get the limited edtion Maxima in white before they are gone thoes are nice cars.

a full loaded SL with elite package will come in around 35K...who would pay that when you could just get a G35 instead? anyways, spaz, i don't even race that much, only when some punk thinks he's the shit, they need to be put in their place sometimes, you know

1) what's the elite package?
2) don't you love finding kids in hooked up integra's with their girlfriends and just shitting all over them when they try you at a light.

the elite package means abcolutely everything, including 320 watt stereo sound, nav, sunshade, traction control, and 4 bucket seats with center console in rear, including rear seat heaters...yeah, some girl in a new v6 eclipse tried to race me last night, with her boyfriend as passenger. i spanked her, straight up. it feels great

03-20-2003, 02:50 PM
So let me get this straight the 4 passenger model cost more that the 5 or does it? Is the SL Elite also a sport package too or is that another option too? Can I upgrade my sound system to the one that is on the new Max?

Paonessa

yeah i smoked a girl and her boyfriend in an RSX type s and i had 4 people in my car with all the windows down. i love it

I personally believe the new Max's are nicer in person. They are bigger, but they generally look nice. Have all you guys got hte new ones at your dealerships?

we don't

thrasher

the SL elite package 4 passenger is more than the 5 seater, as it has 4 bucket seats...and no, it is not a sport package, the sport package is the se, with 18's and lower profile tires. and no, you can't convert your sound system to that of the new maxima, it has 2 subs

Ok I see. Well my car has one sub and 200 watts or something and I was told that bose it hard to upgrade and since they both are bose system I assumed I can upgrade to the Maxima's sound.

I agree with Pick on that comment, they are nicer in person, I just came from the Nissan dealer here and he was even trying to offer me some deals. He asked if I wanted to trade my 2k and I'm so close to paying it off that I said no but that I'd be there after I've paid off my car to test drive the new Max.

The one on the showroom was white and had the Elite Package but he took me outside and showed me an SE model and it was nice, I like the dual exhaust set-up, plus the Elite packaged Max started at 32K, with a deal I probably could've gotten out of there with one for less than 30K.

I'll probably go back for the test drive sooner because I'm curious to see how good the ride quality is, the car is tight and it definitely has came up in quality, fit and finish.

How fast is the new Max compared to the 2003 Max or compared to the 3.5 Altima or G35 sedan?

Paonessa
03-24-2003, 03:58 AM
0-60 i'd say they are all within .5 seconds of each other

deadmaninc
03-24-2003, 06:34 PM
I know that the G35 sedan 6spd will take both of them since it 0-60 is 6.02 or something. I was thinking more of the lines of the Autos.

98maxdriver

man it must be nice to have 2 hooked up maximas. my opinion... i personally like this one better... it is more my style, and has less miles. sweet rides man!

actually, car and driver got a 2k3 max to 60 in 6 flat, and a 3.5 altima to 60 in 5.9, so the g35 isn't necessarril faster, it weighs more(i think) and has more drivetrain loss

I agree, i raced one and hung with him for a while, and then I got pulled on. Oh well, I bet he was surprised that I hung with him for that much.:D

usually the inifinit's aren't as perfomance oriented as their nissan counter-parts. it is the luxury line after all. they usually have heavier cars cuz of all the extra goodies. i think with the right drivers, though, any one of these cars could beat any of the others.

What the hell how did they get the Altima to 5.9? That what I have seen the 0-60 for a Auto and stick G35 Coupe and Auto for a 350Z. That Altima must have had some mod on it. No way Nissan will have its Altima Family sedan be faster than their flagship main car the Maxima and be faster than the 350Z. Then what will be the point of buying a 350Z when u can get a altima for cheaper and has more room.

Paonessa

the 6 speed track model 350 runs a 5.4 0-60.

I am not trying to start anything it just suprised me that they got it to 5.9 secs. Can some one tell me how they did that? IF they can get an Altima to 5.9 sec then you can get the Max and G35 to at least 5.9-5.7 sec. I think those numbers are little off just like the 5.5 sec they got for the G35 coupe. I think the Altima must had some mod at least something like a air filter. I want to get my car below 6.

The car they used for that test is what you would call a "Ringer." Basically what they do is they take all of the stuff that adds weight and remove it and they play with the ECU, maybe add so lighter rims than they would have on them stock and just trim down the weight of the car plus add more things for power.

When the tester goes for the car it looks totally stock but its really been tampered and pampered so they can get the best numbers out of it as a point to make it a sales pitch.

Like Altima the fastest N/A Front Wheel Drive Car in America or stuff like that.

actually, i am pretty sure that's not true...at least not car and driver. they had a detailed description of the rules they use for performance testing and they don't include any modifications...which means anything that doesn't actually come stock isn't fair. tampering with the ecu would yield more HP and TQ, and lighter wheels would obviously improve performance. they usually take everything out of the car, and only run with a couple gallons, make sure all the fluids are low, and test in the best possible conditions. in addition, the model they tested was the lightest possible 3.5 i believe...

nissan makes the best commercials. i love the one where the guy keeps watching the sunset. and the g35 commercial where he busts out a quick 180 at the end. and the one where the dude out-runs the grim reaper.
i didn't see the new one yet though.

yeah, my 2 favorite mac commercials are the one where he chases the sunset (as paoessa mentiones) and the other one where the max is flying and the black paint gets shaved off and turns into silver, that one is BADASS!

i think it depends on the color. if you get the blue that has the blue "tooth" to match, it's dark enough to to make the "tooth" stand out less. like most of you said, i went to the nissan place and they are much better lookng in person

yeah, in person they do look pretty good, definitely more muscular than they have been in the past. i just couldn't get over that tooth man, and if i was gonna spend 35k for a fully loaded Max, i would just get a fully loaded g35 for the same price, with RWD
