91 hatch motor

I'm thinking of fixing my sister's hatch for Christmas. She has the pull-down kind but I heard there is a regular manual hatch motor? I thought they all had the pull-down type. How do I tell which is which and will the manual type fit her car? It's a '91 RS 6cyl.

to convert to manual style hatch, requires welding etc, and is alot of work, uve bought parts from TDS before, moderndaymuscle.com also sells some GM parts for the 91-92 pull down motors

Get the stuff from TDS, Lon is a great guy to deal with. He also reenforces the gear housings on his so they won't break so easily.

yeah Lon is very good to deal with, i ordered a hinge pin kit from TDS for a buddy's car, couldnt beat the service
