Keyless Remote, Lock, Unlock, Remote Start, Panic, Trunk.
Stopped working, Checked Battery ,,, Battery Good, Remote Not Good.
Cleaned contacts with eraser,,, opens trunk only.
Cleaned backside of buttons with alcohol,,, Nope !
Cleaned contacts with alcohol,,, Hear horn blowing from inside house.
Go outside, figure its working now, nope!, use key to stop horn.
Assembled remote again, not working while inside the case. Still opens trunk.
If I short the contacts (with tip of key) while outside the case it works. Lock, Unlock, Remote Start, Panic, Trunk.
Assembled in the case ,,, Nothing but trunk ??? Any Ideas ???

Is this an aftermarket system?
Sounds like a flaky remote if you can short the contacts to get it to work. Maybe look on ebay.
Keep in mind with an aftermarket system, if you have to get a new remote, you will need to program it to the aftermarket system. Which probably no one here will be able to help you with unless your lucky.

Not Aftermarket,
Really weird though, Dealer wants $50 to re-program, even after I explained to them that it works, just not when its inside the case. found them on the web, but will still need the dealership re-program.
Conductive rubber on the pads seems ok, in appearence, don't know how to test it though. can't buy just the case. Remote is only two years old and this started a year ago.
My dad's remote still works after 10 years and he never even changed the battery.
Thanks for you input

If you have a digital multi meter, place the meter to resistance. Place the test probes touching the black area on the button. Make sure that the probes do not touch each other. The resistance reading should be close to zero ohms or exactly zero.

Went to the dollar store picked up a cheap $1 calculator, took it home and gutted it, cut the rubber buttons from the pad, with a dab of silicone I glued them over the top of the non-working buttons on my remote,,, works like a charm.
