nobody could tell me the difference between a dodge and a plymouth, so does anyone at least know the difference betweeen a plymouth neon HIGHLINE and just a plane plymouth neon??

I think the difference is just a little bit of trim on the doors and maybe nicer hubcaps. If you go to www.rockauto.com and put in your Neons year and model, you can do a compare between the regular Neon and the highline, and see if there are any differences in the mechanicals. I suspect there wont be any.
We have a 97 'highline', and I have had the engine out, done work on its wiring, etc. Never has the 'highline' part made a difference in getting any part for it. Our highline didnt even come with an instrument cluster having a tachometer in it - but I got on from a boneyard and installed it. Its nice to have the tachometer working when the speedometer would decide to drop to zero on the interstate.

My daughter bought a 97 highline. It was fine (with new headlights) for 2 years, then began using oil. Lots of oil. It would also shut off if you turned right from a stop-sign and used anything other than very light throttle. I finally pulled the engine in Jan. of 07. I replaced the rear main seal (that was the big leak), and the other main seal, the camshaft seal, the timing belt and water pump, and the heater hoses. I also repaired some melted wires in the harness that goes from the PCM to the engine, and soldered up the bad solder connections on the back of the instrument cluster. Replaced the starter at 140,000 miles. Its been almost trouble free since then, but is now misfiring from time to time. Its still being driven daily though. Im going to get a wiring harness from a boneyard, fix it up, and replace the one in the car. Its got a little over 160,000 now.

wow, mine got 70,000 on it and it looks like its got a minor oil leak somewhere in it. i just replaced the oil so im going to moniter it for the next week or so and see how much its gone down. i cant seem to find anything else wrong with the car yet.

ya and im just guessing that the headlights for the neons just suck... every person ive talked to or seen has replaced them within the 1st month or so just cuz they fog up.
