Zx Vs Monaro

I had the pleasure of lining up a 2002 Holden Monaro GTO 255kw(will be the new Pontiac GTO in US) last week.
I was driving along the main strip on the gold coast just admiring all the great cars on the road, just before I was going to turn off and head for home I see lights gaining on me pretty quickly.
The car passes and then slows down below the speed limit so as I catch up. Not far up the road we get a red light.
The driver of the monaro and his mate were looking over my way and laughing so I thought I'll give him a go. The lights go green and I get a great launch from between 2500 - 3000 rpms. First gear I gained 1/2 car length, by second I had pulled a further car length on him. I could see the lights ahead turning amber so I slowed down.
Knowing that he would want another run (well who like getting beaten by a car 11yrs older than theirs) I get ready for the light to turn green.
My launch was the same as the first run but he was behind by at least a car length this time... look like he launched too high and got his wheels spinning :) By the time I was halfway through 3rd I was about 3-4 cars in front of him so I shut down, gave him the thumbs up and indicated to head home.
All I got in return was the finger and the pleasure of beating such a nice car.:D

Cool race. Uncool opponent:flipa:. I hate people like that. They want to instigate, but get butt-hurt when they lose.

thats the spirit. show them not to fuck with nissan. they laughed at you first, and you gave it to them. the fact that you kept on pulling on him determines that your car is clearly faster then his. what did you do to your Z by the way?

i watched Best Motoring's Street Racing Max DVD last night
and needless to say i'm waiting for the part you tell me he crashes his car and it bursts into flames :o

Sorry you ran into such a sore loser. Where are you from - use of the word "mate" gives me a pretty good idea, but I just thought I'd ask.

I know exactly what you're on about, I beat a Monaro a few months ago too. V8 loving Aussies HATE loosing to Jap cars. At least when we loose, we still give the other driver the thumbs up, regardless of what they're driving. Bloody sooks!
