Power sliding door

The driver side power sliding door will not open using the overhead console button, the button on the key fob, or with the button on the inside pillar behind the drivers seat. Pulling the handle on the outside of the van releases the door and engages the motor to open the door the rest of the way. The door then will close normally using any of the above mentioned buttons.

Is there a switch that can be adjusted to allow the system to open the door normally? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Keeping the sensors on the power sliding doors clean is also necessary for them to operate properly. My doors were not opening, and my mechanic just cleaned the sensors and they work properly now. There was nothing mechanically wrong with the door, only dirty sensors. I clean them every 6 months now and they don't give me any trouble. Also, the rollers at the top and bottom of the door need to be cleaned and lubed every 6-12 months to keep the doors in good working order.
