What is the best method to check ball joints in the 4x4 IFS trucks????

Most of the load is on the lower ball joints so they usually wear out faster than the uppers.
To test the lowers, you need to remove the load on them. I use a floor jack under the lower control arm and get the tire 1 or 2 inches off the ground. Then using a long pry bar, try to move the tire straight up. If you see movement at the ball joint, it is worn out.
Most front end shop will do FE inspections for a reasonable price.
