'02 XL-7 Will not turn over

A friend of mine has an '02 XL-7 V6 that will not turn over. The lights and accesories work fine, but there is not even a solenoid click? Are there any inherant issues with these models to look for.
I'm going to have a look at it this week hopefully, so was just wondering if anyone has had this experience before?

remove cables at battery and clean. Need lots of amps to turn engine over and very little to light a bulb.. also check ground and make sure its clean also.
