Driving around today & smoke developed under the hood. I pop the hood & coolant was everywhere. The battery was covered & is probably why my 'check gauges' light came on. For some time I've been noticing a small amount of coolant on top of the water pump. I've had three water pumps & three radiators in this Jeep since I've had it :cya:The pumps have all been from Autozone & the rads from radiatorexpress.com. MY hoses & belt are still good. Could this probably be something other than the pump or rad? This is simply frustrating.

i don't it's autzone parts if it done it three on there parts. your not getting belt a little to tight are you? allot of people at this time of the year there s/b are slpping off there pullys. you might try looking and see if pulleys are in line. i hope you don't but if anti freeze got all over belt you'll probably buy new belt if it squeels.i get most my car parts at car quest or nappa on stuff on parts like these..good luck..

OK. I pressure tested the system & found a hole in the hose going from the water pump to the firewall (supply line I believe). The hole was on top & shooting coolant like a water gun. I replaced both the supply & return hoses & problem solved. I replaced the top & lower radiator hoses not too long ago, but I now realized that the two hoses going to the firewall were original, I forgot to change them. Not bad considering the mileage on them. I'll monitor the top of my water pump to see if it coolant still collects here. I also think my belt may be a bit tight, I'll loosen that for safety.
