Hey guys, I rode in an 06 GTO with the 6.0 V8 LS2 tonight. I think I know what my next car will be.

Just was wondering what the deal is with the green glow guages??? They look cool, dont get me wrong, but I thought Pontiac's deal was always red?

Just curious....

t,

The modern Goat is an awesome car, despite the negative "press" it received. It lived up to every parameter Jim Wangers and John Z. DeLorean (turn toward Pontiac, Michigan and bow) established. At the TriPower Nationals at Norwalk, they have a great turnout of the "new" Goat. ALL of them are at least in the 13s, with many modified versions going deep into the 10s.

As for the red lights, that was a "flash in the pan". The light blue and green have been a GM "standard" for 50 years, that went through the ergonomic changes in the late '80s. Whether or not the red background was really an advantage depends on who you ask. My '88 Fireo GT has the red and I like it. My wife's '96 Bonneville has the blue...

Enjoy that GTO! And don't be shy on the "loud pedal", that's what they're built for!

Jim

Thanks for the info! I actually havn't bought one, but hopefully someday can afford one.

Till then I'll stick to my GTP.

BTW, I really thought the green interior guages looked nice in the silver car. If only I have about 15,000 to spair.

I've been looking for an '06, as well. The prices are plummeting. I assume they'll hit bottom and come back up, so I hope to buy one in the next year.
