I have stripped out a 99 GA and am turning it into a dirt track racer. All of the interior has been gutted. I am having the Passlock problem and was able to perform the relearn and get the car cranked. Now I think I have a bad BCM - (I still have the gauges in the car, but now NONE of them work, so I can't tell if the security light is blinking or not) Anyways, the car won't start. It will fire, but then immediately shut off.
I guess you can figure out that I don't need to be waiting for 10 or 15 minutes for the car to crank at the racetrack! I need to know how to bypass the BCM and just use a switch setup (like the Nascar boys do) that will start car. I just want to be able to flip a switch to power up the system and push a button to engage the starter. Don't need any other functionality. Doesn't matter how it looks - just want to crank and race.
I know there has to be a way to do this, but everyone if afraid that some big secret will get out and allow thieves to get an advantage. Not the case here.
Thanks in advance. Any ideas are welcome.

Welcome to AF!
No need to post duplicate threads, the other has been deleted.
As for the security issues your BCM works in conjuction with the PCM and the lock cylinder to start the car.
You can buy a remote start kit but you will need the BCM and PCM connected.
The only other way is to buy or make a wire harness that will start and run the engine with out the other components, like an older none computerised automobile. Though you'll still need some sort of PCM to control your engines air/fuel mix and timing, it just wont work with out something monitoring these.
Good Luck!

I assume that the BCM tells the PCM that everything is OK to proceed based on input from the key cylinder. If the cylinder is taken out and replaced by a starter switch, can the switch be wired straight to the PCM? If so, which wires from the switch would need to be connected in order to fire up the PCM and the starter?

For the wires see the wire diagram for the ignition switch here..

And thier are several other wire diagrams there that you will need.
Let us know how it goes and Good Luck.

No. You need BOTH the BCM and PCM to operate properly. You can wire past the Passlock system by using the correct resistors if you want then you can use simple toggle switches to turn the ignition on and such. You've gotta get the dash cluster to power up. With out it, the vehicle won't fire.
