Key & Remote Locking & Unlocking Problem

I have a 1997 Malibu with keyless remotes. When I use the remotes or the inside switch to lock the doors I must use the remote to unlock them. If I use the keys to lock the doors than I must use the key to unlock them as the remote will not unlock them. Can I fix this without going to a dealer ??

Do you have an aftermarket alarm system on it? (Do you have a remote start installed that you know of?)

I would say that if you do, the problem is with your aftermarket alarm system... If you don't, the problem is possibly a faulty BCM...
