2002 GP SE Heat Blower issues

My daughter has a 2002 GP. The blower only works on 5, So she either sweats or freezes. I have heard that the blower in this car is actually a double blower and 5 is like a turbo. Is this true and if so could the first stage wear out before the turbo stage? In info would be greatly appreciated

search for blower resistor removal/replacement procedure, I would gaurentee this is what you need to do.

The blower resistor is your issue. Speed 5 is direct battery power routed through the relay, the other 4 speeds are controlled through the resistor.

It's the resistor - then look at the rubber seal under the winshield wiper cowl inlet and see if the reason the resistor burnt out is because of water leaking in on that hot resistor- do you ever get water on the passenger floorboard after a heavy rain? If so look for the rubber seal to be laying off of its mount. Last one I replaced the resistor, then a month later, the blower motor , then it was all because of the water intrusion...
