450cc fuel injectors

hello to everyone on the forum once agian. :smokin: i know that my last post about the FWD drift was funny and made for what i thought was a fun debate. :grinyes:

well now i have a real problem. i blew the turbo engine that i had, which was the 2.4L turbo in a 98 spyder. :crying: now that i have another motor (another 2.4L) i am going to turbo it and i was going to replace the fuel injectors to 450cc but i was reading how to do this on this site
home.roadrunner.com/~chadnmichelle/ecuswap.htm
and i was like wft  you have to scroll down to get to the injector part.

so this is the question, can i just plug in the 450cc injectors to the pulgs that i already have on the car? or do they have 450cc injectors that they make for the spyder? any help would be great thanks :licka: btw i like this smilie the best.

also on that link is the swap for the ecu when i read that i then made the choise that i am not going to do that swap cuz it looked crazy hard and i would be like :banghead: oh my god confused i think that i am just going to tune my ecu and go from there.

The injectors aren't to bad to swap. Pretty easy if you can access them easily. Dont forget to install the resistor pack with them also.

Edit - Fixed your link. It didn't work

Im guessing your spyder is a GS since its 2.4l.

If so, the injector swap is mad easy. I done it on my car. From reading the tutorials it seems pretty intimidating but it really isnt. Actually installing them is cake, you just take out your old ones and the 450s drop right in their place and they plug right up also.
But, you do have to wire in the factory turbo injector resistor pack. I ganked one off a salvage car and wired it into the factory injector wiring harness.

is it really that easy? just get the resistor pack thing off a gst and then pulg in the injector and go like that? wow that guy on that web page made it seem like taking a brain apart. thanks now i think that i am going to try it but because of money issues i can't get the turbo shit right now. so the question becomes how will it performs on just the stock engine? let me know what you think?

The injectors are larger than stock so what are you using to control them? Once tuned they will run just like stock.

what?????? dude my stock injectors are like 275cc and i am going to put 450cc in it how is it going to run like stock? i really don't understand that. i was thinking that the bigger injectors would give me a better 0-60. and also when i drive my car it feels like once i push the gas pedal down half way that is all that it has. i want to be able to push it to the floor and feel a difference so is this not going to happen? and if that is not going to happen then what can i do to make that happen. i know that the first answer is going to be turbo but keep in mind that money is tight. so what should i do

Wait a minute.... So is the car turbo or not? If its not then your wasting your time because your not running out of fuel.

If you are turbo then you need to upgrade your injectors cause they are not going to provide enough fuel for the motor with the extra air you will be getting. What I meant was that the car would idle and run just like you had the stock injectors in after it was tuned. THIS IS GOOD. But when you go to step on the gas you would have more fuel for the motor which would make the car faster.

Well its not that easy...there is some wiring involved.

And you shouldnt put the new injectors in until you turbo the car. Otherwise its going to run like shit, get poo poo gas mileage, foul plugs, and more than likely be even slower than what it is now.
You still need a fuel pump upgrade and some kind of fuel management. An SAFC will work, but the ECU swap will be better. You can go with a Walbro 190lph fuel pump. You also need a Wideband A/F meter

well i got the injectors and the fuel pump was next what i think that i am going to do is just wait til i have all the turbo stuff ready i think the reason that the last motor quit was the fact that i didn't have the injectors or the ecu swap but this time i am going to get both.

after the swap of the injectors and ecu and fuel pump and things that i need for the turbo are on the car, what next? i mean my goal is to run low 13's or better so were do i go from there

Um, yeah if you didnt have any fuel upgrades...then that is exactly why you blew the engine.

thats it. If you want anymore than that you will need a built motor, uprgaded turbo, upgraded fuel system, and fuel management.

you should break 14's

Your not going to run low 13s on the stock bottom end. I doubt you would even hit high 13s but if you were running slicks and had an awesome run it may be possible.

aight then that will work a built motor that can handle more boost ok. there is also an AWD conversion with the spyders i found it on a site but it said that you have to get the stuff off a GSX which would make since. this is what i really want to try to do. does any one think that it is possible to do this?

i will try to post the site later i am on a cell phone right now in a meeting at work so kinda got to look busy.

Yes the awd swap is possible. It is a lot of work and can be expensive if you cant do it yourself. I suggest you do a lot more research about modding a car before you start getting into all of this. Not trying to hate on you but from what I can tell you have a lot of learning to do before you start trying to make a bunch of power to go fast.

Just take it slow and keep the car running good and you will be fine, dont want to blow another motor.
