Just looked at some pics from the All Japan Model & Hobby Show 2008.
It seems Fujimi have started on a
1/12 kit of the R35 GT-R !!
Spectacular !
Really hope it comes into production. But it seems to be quite far developed:

Next, please...
I'm so over the GT-R.
And I believe Porsche's accusations that Nissan cheated on its laptimes around Nurburgring. Porsche would never lie.
I want ASTONS AND FERRARI CALIFORNIAS!!

Martin,
Did you ever finish the F40 or the 959?

I'm also wondering about that GTR's lap time...but I like the cars okay enough. I'm working on Fujimi and Aoshima versions, already finished a Tamiya.
Astons - YES...Ferrari California - NOOOOOOO....:puke:

Allow me to disagree. The new Ferrari looks way better than any GTR ever looked.

BINGO!
I'm not saying the GTR is beautiful. It's interesting/quirky in a weird technical way. Styling kind of fits the mentality. It's only a Nissan and 1/4 the price of the Cali Spider.
The California, yuck. License plate should read Hugh Jass. Retractable HT and that whole back end are just all kinds of wrong to my eyes. The front is good. The original 250 Cali Spyder is sublime. The new one looks like a tarted up Lexus SC430. But what do I know? Somehow they've managed to sell out 2 or 3 years of production of that beast. Dear New Ferrari California Owners: Yes, it will depreciate. Like a rock. Should've bought a Benz. Now go take your toy poodle to get it's teeth cleaned

This kit will probably mark the beginning of my adventures with 1/12 kits. The GT-R is high on my list of 'cars to drive in my lifetime'.

I want a XBow.
I want an Atom, and a Lotus barchetta, yep a Catheram R500too.
we got enough Astons, much ferrari, Nissan broken balls... :D
I want dream cars to mount, and in the same istant you see the real car on the road, the magic is finished.
But I think you'll see a XBow or a Atom and the magic will still survive ;)

Know what Fujimi, it's all good. You send that R35 12th-scaler MY way. I'LL take it!
Double-size that new 250GTO, and I'll sing your praises till I die.

I'm more interested in this:

I really hope they go ahead with this! We need more plastic 1/20 F1 kits.

Returning for a moment to the subject of the thread -
In many ways, the Fujimi 1/24 R35 is the best-executed of the three available kits.
Sure, doesn't have an engine - yet. But the hood is separate and hinged, and its undersurface is complete right down to a divot for a prop rod. Considering its superior suspension detail and its positive overall fit, it bodes extremely well for a 1:12 kit from the same master patterns.
Not to mention, the 1:12 prototype has a busy look under its hood.
